MJ Mechanical Repairs, officially established in 2022, is a family-owned business that provides services, repairs and maintenance to all makes and types of vehicles. We are an RMI and Miwa accredited workshop. This simply means that we have the right to repair your vehicle if you no longer have a service plan, but your vehicle is under warranty. As the customer, you have the right to choose us as your preferred workshop without voiding your warranty. At MJ Mechanical Repairs we strive to deliver an optimal solution for every one of our customers. We believe in providing customers with affordable services without compromising on quality and we take pride in the work that we deliver as well as our quality workmanship. This is why we offer a 6-month or 20 000 km (whichever comes first) workmanship warranty on major work carried out
Johan Nel is the owner and head mechanic of MJ Mechanical Repairs. He obtained his qualification in 1997 and has since gained a lot of experience with working on both petrol and diesel vehicles. Johan takes a hands-on approach to his business and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. You will find him working alongside his employees in the workshop - teaching them the ‘tricks of the trade’. In his spare time, Johan enjoys racing his E36 CUP BMW on Killarney race track

Minor services are carried out every 10 000 km – 15 000 km
Major services are carried out every 30 000 – 45 000 km or every 12 Months, whichever comes first

Brakes comprise of discs, pads, shoes, drums and fluid
Brakes are a critical part to you and your family’s safety. Ensure that you brakes are checked at least every year or before a road trip.
Do not avoid brake warning lights, screeching noises, grinding sounds or a vibration when braking.
If you experience any of the above-mentioned, book your vehicle for a brake inspection.
Our technicians are qualified to remove and replace brake parts successfully. Brake discs skimming can be done on-site.
A clutch consists of three main parts – clutch plate, pressure plate & flywheel.
Engaging the clutch means that all three of the above-mentioned parts are pressed together by the springs in the clutch.
This ensures that the engine and transmission are connected and spinning at an equal speed.
When you leave the clutch pedal, the springs pull the pressure plate away from the clutch plate which causes the flywheel and pressure plate to spin at different speeds.
This allows the driver to change gears smoothly or come to a halt.
Vehicles have become more computerised over the years.
The great part about this is that vehicles’ integrated systems can now be scanned for any errors or malfunctions.
A diagnostic scan analyses the computer software and systems of your vehicle and provides the technician valuable feedback.
This valuable feedback can be used to speed up the repair process as issues can be addressed quicker and more efficiently.
Switching on the air conditioner in your vehicle and you find that it is not cooling or filtering the way that is used to?
Air-conditioners have almost become an essential part of our comfortability while driving.
Thus, not having that comfort, can be an inconvenience.
With prior arrangement, air-condition servicing and re-gas can be done off-site.
Installing and maintaining electrical components and systems on vehicles form part of an Auto-electricians work.
Most auto-electrical work can be carried out at MJ Mechanical repairs.
This includes anything from changing light globes to rewiring systems.
Your vehicle’s suspension consists of many components.
Our qualified technicians are able to do maintenance inspections on the suspension and, if necessary, they are equipped to remove and replace the damaged components.
Please note: Wheel alignment and balancing can be done off-site.
We offer a 24-hour Tow-in service.
In the event of a break-down, we can arrange that your vehicle is towed to our premises.

MJ Mechanical Repairs offers a drop off and collect service free of charge within a 10 km radius.
We can collect your vehicle at your house and drop it off once your vehicle’s service and/or repairs is complete
Customers can drop off their vehicle at the workshop and we will transport the customer to where they need to be and collect them upon completion of the work carried out on their vehicle
It is important to have your wheels aligned and balanced regularly.
Wheel alignment and balancing can be done off-site.
